How many years have you been married? When is your anniversary? These numbers are as important to remember as your own birthday, maybe even more so. As you plan for your next one, plan something for the days leading up to your anniversary day. e.g if you have been married 8 years, plan 8 days worth of anniversary celebration leading up to the actual day. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, a trinket, a note, or a date night each day. Make it fun!
This is the first of two days this month where the date suggests to us what we need to do: set our wives as priority 1. Tell her today how important she is to you.
Ok, yes, cheesy I know. The Office episode entitled “The List” aired last week. The premise is a list of the names of all the people in the office made by the new CEO split on two sides. It’s revealed during a lunch with the people on the left side of the list that the delineation is winners vs. losers. Jim was on the winner side, and his wife, Pam, was not.
I know Jim is fictional, and his actions are out of the mind of the writers of the show, but the thought behind it is pretty great. See how Jim made Pam feel better at time 21:09 in the episode link below.
When you’re tired its easy to be crabby and use your fatigue as an excuse. Don’t do it! Make an extra effort to be kind to your wife when you’re tired after working all night or being up in the night with kids.
Remind your wife that today and every day is your lucky day because you have her.
